A laser inscription is a name or certificate number that is etched into the diamond girdle as a means of identification and security. It is also used as a means of promoting and highlighting the beauty, consistency, and quality of a Branded Diamond. The inscription is actually engraved into the diamond by a non invasive laser. The etching is followed by a colored carbon (usually black) which makes the inscription stand out under very high magnification. Although the black carbon (ink) will usually fade with time, (or after the rigorous process of steaming and cleaning the diamond ring) the etching however will remain as your personal stamp of security in the event that you have your diamond ring serviced, sized, or repaired at a local jeweler.
