1. Are your listed diamonds Conflict-Free?
The listed diamonds are conflict-free and secured through legitimate sources and in compliance with United Nations Resolutions and the Kimberly Protocols for conflict free diamonds.


2. Do your listed diamonds come with a diamond grading report?

Diamond lab grading reports listed on our Exceldiamonds.com web site are from GIA, AGS, or EGL.

4. Are the diamonds you sell laser inscribed?

The majority of the diamonds have already been laser inscribed by the grading laboratory. For any diamond you select that is not laser inscribed, we can at your request send it back to the grading lab for inscription service. Your cost is $175.00 plus the the round trip Fedex overnight insurance shipping cost.


5. I've seen various definitions of "eye clean" diamond. What does it really mean?

Eye-Clean Diamonds Versus Visible Diamond Inclusions.

An eye clean diamond is defined as the inability to see inclusions with the naked eye at the normal viewing distance of 10-15 inches. Our photos and videos are presented at 40X magnification whereas normal healthy human vision is in the range of 1.25-1.6 magnification. A diamond that is flawless or internally flawless has no inclusions and is eye-clean. The next category are the VVS1 and VVS2 clarity that will contain one microscopic pinpoint inclusion that is only visible at 60X magnification.

The VS1 and VS2 clarity grades contain several microscopic inclusions and are eye-clean.

SI1 and SI2 clarity grades contain inclusions that will be visible under 10X magnification but will appear eye clean, especially in Ideal cut, Excellent Cut, and Very Good cut grade diamonds. Peripheral Inclusions will be hidden by the ring prongs and metal work of your engagement rings.

I1 and I2 inclusions are large,can be readily seen under 10X magnification, and in many cases also at normal viewing distance, and may reduce the diamond's brilliance and transparency. Eye clean I1 and I2's are rare and will tend to have whitish-gray inclusions on the periphery where they can be totally or partially hidden by prongs. Eye clean I1 and I2 clarity grades represent excellent value for your money and therefore should be given serious consideration for your engagement rings, and especially if being purchased for diamond stud earrings.


6. Will you price match a loose diamond?
If you have seen a comparable diamond of same color, cut, clarity, and grading laboratory at a lower price from a reputable vendor, send us the link to that item so that we can verify it.

7. I read on the Internet that fluorescence in a diamond is a bad thing and should be avoided. Is this true?

This is not true.

The fact is that less than 1/2 of 1% of all polished diamonds display fluorescence (reaction to UV light) that makes the stone look hazy, milky, or oily. In just about all cases, especially in well-cut diamonds, fluorescence has a positive effect in the diamond's face up appearance. As a matter of fact, years ago, fluorescent diamonds were known as "blue-white" diamonds and sold at significant premiums.

GIA back in 1997 did the definitive study on the effects of fluorescence on diamond transparency and face up color and their results will really surprise you!

8. Do you charge Sales Tax?

We must charge New York Sales Tax when you take possession of the merchandise in New York State.

We do not charge sales tax on domestic shipping outside of New York.

On International shipments, you are obligated to pay your country's applicable import taxes. Contact Fedex or your country's Customs Office for the applicable tax rate and amount.


9. Does Exceldiamonds provide Financing?

Yes we do.

GetFinancing is a service that gives you access to several economical lending options subject to the Lender's approval. Click on the Get Financing button on your Checkout Cart which will take you directly to their web site. Fill out their short questionnaire and choose your interest rate. 10. Why are your prices so low?
We are able to provide significant savings to you by manufacturing our rings, bands and jewelry right here in New York City and by eliminating the middlemen and selling diamonds directly to you.

11. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, PayPal, Bank Wire Transfer, and Financing through Get Financing. Financing applies to USA Citizens only. You receive a 3% discount for bank wire payment.


12. Can I pay with 2 or more Credit Cards?
Yes you can. On the Checkout page, click the "Pay By Phone" button, submit your order, and then call us with the credit cards information, the addresses that each card is registered to, and the amount you want to charge on each card.

As the Credit Card processing company requires us to provide your authorization and verification to allow us to charge your cards, and for your protection, please also Fax this information to our FAX line (212) 202-4098.


13. Do I receive a discount for bank wire payment?
Yes. Just click on the bank wire payment icon in the Payment section on your Checkout Cart and our software will automatically display the new discounted wire price. Within seconds of your clicking the Submit Now button, you will receive an email confirmation detailing the item(s) you have purchased as well as the listing of our bank account number. Wire your payment to our Account and we will confirm receipt as soon as your funds arrive.

Domestic USA originating wires completed by 12 Noon will arrive into our Account by the end of the same business day. Domestic Bank wires completed later in the day will arrive to us within 24 hours.

International bank wires can take 1-4 business days to arrive.


14. How Do I Place An Order On Your Web Site?
Place the product(s) you wish to purchase into your Cart by clicking on the blue "Buy Now" button. Enter your Billing and Shipping address, choose your payment option, review your Order, and then click the "Submit Now" button to complete and send your order to us. Within seconds you will receive an email confirmation from us detailing the item(s) you have purchased. Save for your records.

15. How do you ship your diamonds and jewelry?

We ship via Fedex Priority service with full insurance coverage to your Billing Address. Your signature and photo ID are required at the time of delivery. If you are not at the Billing Address when Fedex arrives, they will leave a door tag with their contact information. You can reschedule the delivery two addtional times or go directly to the Fedex Station to pick up. At the Fedex Station you will be asked for your photo ID and signature for the package to be released.

If you do not take possession of the merchandise within 5 business days, Fedex will send it back to us.


16. Do you ship to Australia?
Yes we do via Fedex Priority International service. To avoid delays and per AUS Customs regulations you may be required to request that Fedex act as your Broker Agent to work with Customs in getting the package released. You will be notified regarding this possibility once the package has arrived in AUS.

17. How long will it be until I receive my Order from Exceldiamonds?
Loose diamonds may take anywhere from 2-7 days to ship out to you via Fedex Priority service from the time after we receive your payment and also depending on the location of the diamond at the time you placed your order. We personally examine every diamond before it ships out.

Our rings and bands are custom manufactured to spec of your diamond, and can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks depending on the specific ring design you have chosen, our Order volume, and seasonal busy times of the year.

18. Do you provide appraisals or insurance coverage?

We do not provide Appraisals. This as a clear conflict of interest as indicated by the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (http://www.najaappraisers.com). We recommend that you to have your loose diamond appraised by a competent and completely independent jewelry appraiser. Our web site and NAJA provide listings for every State.

We do insure your merchandise for transit to you. Once received our insurance coverage terminates and you should immediately insure your purchase with your Insurance company. You can use our Company Invoice to initiate the coverage and then follow up at a later date to insure the item(s) with the higher Appraised value from an Independent Appraiser if you wish.

19. If I buy a diamond from another jeweler can I still purchase your beautiful ring settings, or Vatche settings?

You sure can! We are also happy to set your diamond into one of our exclusive ring creations.

Setting fees are as follows:

Up to 1 CT = $65.00

1.01-1.49 CT = $75.00

1.50-1.99 CT = $85.00

2.00-2.49 CT = $100.00

2.49-2.99 CT = $125.00

3.00-3.49 CT = $135.00.

We will also ask that you cover the portion of insurance related to the value of your diamond in the return shipment. This amount is calculated by the Invoice amount of your diamond and your shipping location. We ship via Fedex.

20. Is there a charge for setting my loose diamond into one of your settings?
There is no extra setting fee when you purchase the diamond and setting directly from us. We set the diamond and send you the completed ring.

21. Is my purchase insured in transit to me?
Yes. In addition to providing free Fedex shipping, we also insure your purchase with our Insurance company.

22. Do you charge for shipping?

We provide FREE Domestic shipping via Fedex Priority service. On International shipments there is a $50.00 shipping fee on items costing up to $600.00. Free International shipping via Fedex on items of $600.00 and higher.

International Customers are responsible to pay their Country's Customs, VAT, GST taxes, etc. as applicable. Contact your local Fedex or Customs Office to determine the exact amount.


23. What kind of customer care can I expect after purchase?

If you have purchased your diamond and setting from us, and we did the actual setting, polishing and prong tightening, will be done free of charge.

This warranty does NOT cover any damages related to, or as a result of typical 'wear and tear' which will be fixed at a cost of labor and materials, including stone replacement. Any alteration done by a jeweler not in our employ voids this warranty and a subsequent request to us for repair will be charged for labor and materials. In all instances, the customer shall be responsible for round trip shipping.


24. What is your refund policy?

You have a 30-day money back guarantee which begins from the day you receive our package!

Procedure To Return Your Merchandise During Your 30-Day Exam Period:

1. You must first contact us (866-829-8600) or e-mail us (sales@exceldiamonds.com) and request a Return Authorization Number (RAN). We will not accept your returned package if it does not have a visible RAN on the face of the box.

2. Ship via United States Post Office, Registered mail, Return receipt. Insure the item(s) for your invoice amount. Place your item into any standard plain brown box. Boxes can be purchased at the post office for only a few dollars.

3. Merchandise that is returned to us for a refund using the aforementioned instructions needs to be received by us within the 30-day return time frame in order to qualify for a refund according to our stated policies. We will not accept Items returned to us after the expiration of 30 days.

4. Returned merchandise must be undamaged and in "new and unused condition" to be acceptable for refund or exchange. Items showing obvious signs of wear, or alteration by a jeweler other than Excel Diamonds will not be accepted . Rings sold without a center diamond that show signs of wear or altered by a Jeweler other than Exceldiamonds.com will not be accepted for a refund. In addition, any engagement ring setting sold without a center diamond is subject to a 20% restocking fee. Diamond bands and rings with personalized engraving are final sale and not refundable.

5. Vatche Design Diamond Eternity rings, Diamond wedding bands, diamond Pendants, Diamond set Matching Bands, Designer Inspired Rings, and Vatche Designer rings are non-refundable. All other Diamond Eternity rings, Diamond wedding bands, Diamond Pendants, and Diamond set Matching Bands, are subject to a 20% restock fee which will be deducted from your refund.

All Menís solitaire Wedding bands are custom orders and are subject to a 20% refund-restock fee.

Mens diamond wedding bands are not refundable.

The refund will also deduct our shipping/insurance costs.
