We do list diamonds on our website that are of our own manufacture and in our possession.
In addition, we also list diamonds from various manufacturers that are not in-house with us but that we call in for comprehensive data work ups, light performance analysis, and photos, which are done in our on-premises Diamond Lab. We then e-mail this information to you for review and we'll be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
We do not drop ship diamonds as do many other Internet diamond websites but insist on examining every diamond.
Our "eyes-on" free service provides you with valuable information not provided on the diamond grading report. If the diamond does not pass our screening tests, we'll tell you so and advise that we continue the search for the best diamond that meets your specs and budget.
All of the loose diamonds we sell are guaranteed to be non- clarity enhanced, laser drilled, fracture filled, or otherwise artificially enhanced in any manner. We also guarantee our diamonds to be conflict-free and secured through legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations Resolutions.
Excel Diamonds is extremely sensitive to these issues and we do our utmost to insure that we act in accordance with the Kimberly Process and the USA Patriot Act.
You must be thinking...what's the catch?..right?
Sounds too good to be true..right? Why are we selling diamonds for so much less than in the stores?

All the diamonds we sell are accompanied by original grading reports issued by the most respected Gemological Laboratories. GIA and AGS are the top diamond grading laboratories in the world. They are known for their very strict color and clarity grading and for their consistency. Indeed, GIA is the foremost educational and gemstone research organization in the world. A GIA Lab Report allows you to buy with confidence.
Many of the diamonds we sell have already been laser inscribed by the grading laboratory. For all others, we provide in-house laser inscriptions at a cost of $7 per character.
Yes. We give you a Lifetime Upgrade. Use your original purchase price towards the upgrade and just pay the difference.
Please note: Upgrades are a minimum of 50%. and apply to all diamonds listed on our website.
No we don't. We see this as a clear conflict of interest. What do you expect the jeweler who has sold his diamond and setting to you to say regarding his merchandise? How can you be sure that the Appraisal is not inflated causing you to pay higher insurance premiums than necessary?
We believe it is unethical to offer a "free 3rd party" diamond or jewelry appraisal to our customers like some other diamond and jewelry companies do. These companies are often colaborating with the "3rd party appraiser" to provide you with these "feel good", inflated, and essentially worthless appraisals.
We strongly advocate for you to have your loose diamond appraised by a competent, and completely independent jewelry appraiser of your choosing. We have policies in place that are designed to facilitate this for you either before or after you make your diamond purchase with us!!
For domestic USA customers we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Google Checkout, Paypal, and Bank Wire Transfer. You receive a 2% discount off the list price for bank wire payment. Should you opt to take advantage of our 2% wire discount, simply select the wire payment option in our shopping cart, which will deduct 2% from your total remittance. You will not be required to provide us with your credit card information and you will actually place your order without submitting payment. With your printable order confirmation receipt, you will receive our specific bank wire information, which you will use to actually consummate your purchase by remitting payment from your bank to ours. As soon as we confirm receipt of your funds, your order will either be shipped or placed into production and depending on what you ordered.
For International customers we accept Paypal, Google Checkout, and Bank Wire Transfer.

Loose diamonds are shipped the same day we receive your funds. Rings and Settings may take from 3-14 days depending on the nature of the ring, our workload and heavy seasonal orders. Custom rings and settings may require up to 3 weeks for completion.
You sure can! We are also happy to set your diamond into one of our exclusive ring creations.
Setting fees are as follows:
Up to 1 CT = $65.00
1.01-1.50 CT = $75.00
1.51-2.00 CT = $85.00
2.01-2.50 CT = $100.00
2.51-3.00 CT = $125.00.
We will also ask that you cover the portion of insurance related to the value of your diamond in the return shipment. This amount is calculated by the Invoice amount of your diamond and your shipping location. We ship via Fedex or UPS Priority Overnight Service.
Indicate this information for us in the Instructions Box on the Checkout Page.

This is not true.
The fact is that less than 1/2 of 1% of all polished diamonds display fluorescence (reaction to UV light) that makes the stone look hazy, milky, or oily. In just about all cases, especially in well-cut diamonds, fluorescence has a positive effect in the diamond's face up appearance. As a matter of fact, years ago, fluorescent diamonds were known as "blue-white" diamonds and sold at significant premiums.
GIA back in 1997 did the definitive study on the effects of fluorescence on diamond transparency and their results will really surprise you!
