Dear Barry,
My name is Capt Sean P. Carroll. I purchased an ideal cut .75 D VVS1 diamond, and 14k engagement ring from you last November, and never had the opportunity to thank you for your assistance with the sale, your courtesy, and your support for the military. I received the ring just before my (then) girlfriend arrived in from Ireland, and kept it hidden so I could propose on Point Loma, overlooking San Diego at sunset on Thanksgiving. The ring was more than I could have asked for and I was very proud and honored to present it to her as I asked for her hand in marriage. The diamond was (and is) unbelievably flawless, clear, and radiant, and the superior quality of work of the ring is readily apparent. The "yes" news was huge for all of our friends and family, and we celebrated in a big way over the Thanksgiving weekend. We flew back to Norfolk, VA (where I am currently stationed) a few days later because I was tasked with an urgent requirement to train Marines on a snap mission to Iraq, and so Valerie could fly back to Ireland. After the first day of training, and the day after Val flew back, I was driving home when I was hit head-on by a truck full of younger students who were possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The accident was severe, and totaled both of our vehicles. I went through a lot of physical therapy, and maintained my normal work-load with training Marines during the last 9 months. Despite the tough times, Val and I never lost site of our planning for the wedding. We were married in a wonderful ceremony at her home church in Lismore, Ireland on August 25th, 5 years to the day that we first met. With so much going on, I was unable to send you a simple note to let you know how much I appreciated your business ethics, workmanship, and the simple beauty of the diamond and ring. Val always receives comments from friends and strangers alike who tell her that the can see it "sparkle from afar", or "it catches your eye anyway it moves". I agree, but further know that it is unique and that there is no equal to it, just like her. Thanks for making this once in a lifetime experience everything it should be. Please visit our website, www.seanandvalerie.com to see how your ring helped us get to where we are today.
Best Regards, Captain Sean P. Carroll, USMC |
