| After 6 months of diamond hunting and examining several branded and unbranded stones, my quest has finally come to an end. I purchased a wonderful diamond for my proposal ring from Barry Gutwein at SuperbCert. I was initially very nervous about making the transaction - it takes a lot of work to obtain my trust AND my money. Being unable to see whom I deal with makes matters even worse! What more, committing such an important amount BEFORE receiving anything at all is a totally foreign concept to me. I usually pay and grab my goods at the same time. But the biggest deterrent was that I'm in Singapore. In the event legal action would be required, I would have no idea where to start nor whom to go to. Communicating with Barry several times per day for more than 3 weeks helped ease my fears that he was a con man. Seeing so many satisfied customers on DiamondTalk made me certain that going with any one of the DiamondTalk dealers would be safe. And it adds a measure of comfort knowing they are accountable to DiamondTalk! The price, the excellent service, and the gentlemanly way in which Barry wrote closed the deal for me. Despite being a 'small fry' compared to the US consumers (you guys wear HUGE stones!) I was pleasantly surprised that someone as busy as Barry spent so much time with me. I am not an easy customer. I always ask loads of (sometimes stupid) questions in every email and request for all kinds of pictures and comparisons. And I always have more questions once I receive answers. In each email, Barry was very patient despite the fact my choice kept wavering just when he was about to close the deal. He even examined the diamonds personally for me, when I told him I had difficulty choosing between two stones with the same specs. I have absolutely no regrets now, even though my bank account looks like a deflated balloon. I have one of the most beautiful diamonds I have ever laid my eyes upon. The fire and brilliance are so amazing I've been spending hours admiring it under different light conditions. Witnessing the amazing dispersion never fails to make me smile like a slobbering idiot. Viewing it under the Idealscope confirmed what me eyes were seeing - superb light return and internal symmetry. To decide whether or not I would keep the SuperbCert, I brought it to several jewelry shops along with my Idealscope and compared it to 4 Hearts on Fire and 4 Brilliant Roses of similar size. My stone emerged as the winner each time - while it was either on par with the others or slightly more beautiful, its price was about two thirds that of the others! My experiment left me convinced that I had made the right choice with my limited budget. It will be very hard for me to part with "My Precioussss" once I propose. I think I should get one for myself!
